In the Garden

Here are some images from a recent fashion shoot. Beads, feathers, bamboo, gold, guitars and greenery… Thanks to model Katie Robinson, MUA Lex Ewing and my mentors, Joey and Jessica Seawell for collaborating with me on this project.

Re-Imagined Images- Black & White

Over the break,  I’ve experimented with editing some digital color images as black and white shots. So, here are a few outtakes from previous shoots, reimagined without color. Enjoy!

Self-Promo Preview

Here are a couple of previews of an Anthropologie clothing shoot that I am working on. Enjoy!

Fashion Flare

In the studio, I wanted to experiment with some high-key individual model fashion style shots. Caroline Simmons (a talented recent RCC graduate herself) agreed to model and we tried some different lighting styles and looks. I ended up liking the two shots below- envisioning it as a mock double page ad for a designer eyewear company. Thanks to Caroline for modeling while also giving lighting assistance on the set!

Portrait Re-creation

For our Spring Portrait class, we were assigned to find an image by another photographer that we liked and to try to recreate it or copy its style. I choose this image of Audrey Hepburn by Yousuf Karsh. Thanks to the wonderful model Laura Smearman and to Molly Mullin for rocking the make-up on this shoot. This was shot on medium format film and scanned from the negative.

The Dress Shoot

For my Spring Portfolio, I constructed a paper-mache dress/sculpture which made the model wearing it taller than normal. I envisioned it as a piece in a slightly surreal fashion-style shoot.

These first images are from the party when some very helpful friends and I made the dress while enjoying a sunny Spring afternoon. Thank y’all!

These are three digital shots taken while testing the lights and getting ready during the shoot.

Here are three digital outtakes of the amazing (and patient) model who wore the dress, Ms. Brittany Snider.

Finally, here is the diptych that was used for my portfolio. These were shot on medium format film and scanned here from negatives.

Thanks again to Brittany and also to the most excellent Walker Anderson for modeling and being an amazing assistant on the set!
